Anthony Young

'Our Town'

15-year-old Anthony Young and O'Neill CVI Performing Arts student of Brooklin, Ontario grew up being comfortable on stage, performing for the first time at age 6. He won second place in Brooklin Mini Idol at age 8. In addition to entering local competitions and playing open-mics and venues in Durham and York Region, he regularly performs and volunteers as a sound tech for many charity events each year. As a result Anthony won the Celebrating Youth/Paul Wallace Award in 2013 for his volunteer contributions in his hometown. This recognition inspired him to write an anthem in honor of Brooklin, Ontario called “Our Town”. The song came full circle when he had the opportunity to perform his song for the Optimists Club and Mayor of Whitby/City Council at a Pan Am Games concert. He has been a student at The Bird Loft School Of Voice for nearly three years, where he studies voice and songwriting and picked up the guitar in less than a year, determined to further his love of writing songs.
